“The suffering has a public and we are consumer of violence as a form of entertainment”. The starting points of Nothing To Hide were the essay by Susan Sontag (“Regarding the Pain of Others”) and an enquiry into the field of news on the internet. Initiated a decade ago in the US, the programme “Naked News” has spread rapidly almost throughout the world. Female presenters are stripping while reading the news. The combination of two commonly seperated formats (striptease and news broadcast) leads to a sensational and pornografic portrayal of reality. In Nothing To Hide shoking news regarding violence, terrorism, war, death and pain are becoming the elements of a bizarre mediascape. Not only what we experience is reduced to its entertainement value, even the feelings of others merely serve the purpose of the show. The audience will be confronted with a visionary show that is inspired by the contemporary way of how media is negotiating and representing reality.
